Today we awoke to the disingenuous career peak of Hollywood’s “A-” list.
Matt Damon has been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive (although rumors are circulating that the actor has turned it down) and Sarah Michelle Gellar has been named Maxim’s Woman of the Year.

Okay so besides painfully mediocre looks, what were the last things these two had to offer the general public? The Departed and Scooby Doo.

Call us spoiled, but in a world where Al Gore is winning the Nobel Peace Prize, we expected a bit more creativity than actors winning accolades for being actors — and in Gellar’s case, being a supporting actress… to a cartoon. But word is that SMG does take her own bags to Whole Foods –although apparently it’s to save the other kind of green… (but to each their own)… and Matt Damon has recently linked up with GreenDimes, an organization against incessant junk mail and paper waste in America.

Rapper and producer Kanye West’s mom died after a cosmetic surgery procedure on Saturday. Donda West was the chair of Chicago State’s English Department until she left the post to become her son’s manager. Last year she wrote a book on the Live Earth performer, called Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star, (Lynn take note!), and the two were very close before her death.

Recent searches show the doctor performing the operation is plagued with scandal, including impregnating a former patient, having a restraining order enforced against him, as well as leaving a sponge in one of his patients. It looks as thought he might have f-ed up majorly this time too.

Who didn’t f up? Donda West. No, the Kanye this woman raised has dedicated part of his career to raising awareness about conflict-free diamonds. Not only do the ‘blood diamonds’ cause conflicts, killing many Africans annually, the diamond industry also destroys kilometers of coastline.
