No, not that one, much as “Flavor of Love” was, admittedly, a guilty, guilty pleasure. Who doesn’t like watching crazy hoes with terrible weaves fighting over a 5′ tall man rockin’ a clock as big as his torso? However, we’re talking ’bout the New York that’s making huge strides in the transportation/pollution arena. Last year, Mayor Bloomberg made an announcement that by 2012, NY’s yellow taxis will have gone hybrid; last Wednesday, he announced that the black taxis (think Big’s chauffered car) will also go hybrid in the next five years, cutting their emissions in half.
In other New York-related transportation news: congestion pricing! The system involves charging drivers more during peak traffic periods, in an attempt to encourage alternate forms of transportation, thus cutting down on traffic and improving air quality. The revenue from the extra charges will go directly into improving public transit and the state of the roads. No offense, T-Pols, but until you step up your game, Bloomberg’s mug is more watchable than yours.
