We Can Almost Look at Britney Like That Again
Thursday April 03rd 2008, 10:43 pm

The last time we declared Britney “back” we were gyrating on a banquette at The Plumm and Gimme More came on. That was before the VMAs and the ensuing debacle.

Well, during last week’s How I Met Your Mother Britney showed off one chin and some of that old magic. Now, OK! is confirming what we all witnessed: she dropped 15 El-Beez. Eschewing her old techniques—laxatives and frappucinos—she’s exercising and eating five small metabolism-boosting meals a day.

As her staunchest supporters, we say what’s good for Britney is good for us all. Without the Milk of Magnesia, that means fewer trips to the can for Britney and a little more water for the rest of us. And without the hourly coffee run in her 24-valve Mercedes SLK350 our air is just a little less carbonated.

With her family and her old manager back in the picture and a possible reconciliation with K-Fed, we hope she means it the next time she says: It’s Britney Bitch! We know we’ll mean it. We always do…at least at the moment.

Yael Naim’s Video Smells Like Incense

When we introduced the MacBook Air to you back in January, a barrage of ads showing off the slim, eco-friendly computer followed. The featured tune, French-Israeli singer Yael Naim’s New Soul, blew up and now we can’t get away from it or the video. With hay, a pond and flora, it’s a celebration of nature, glorious nature that leaves us feeling all crunchy and granola on the inside—and reeking of patchouli on the outside. We need a martini. And a new skinny suit.

The Jonas Brothers Vow to do Anything for a Headline

The Jonas Brothers and their extensive hair collection

As if the Jonas Brothers weren’t cloying enough with their little "purity rings," now, they are bragging about driving a "green SUV." Look, lads: an SUV is an SUV. OK, your Tahoe burns less gas than other SUVs, but not less than a conventional compact. Or a compact hybrid. Thank you for calling.

Too bad the boys didn’t take their rig to UW-Madison on April Fool’s Day. Students there deflated a tire or two on 300 cars and left the owners a note suggesting that they drive less. Someone please leave the Jonas Brothers a note to just stay home, with a chaperone, of course.

944 Loves Paris, Ed Hardy T-Shirts & the Planet

One of our favorite things about L.A. is that its free commuter dailies (e.g. AM New York, Metro New York) are arrogantly superficial, completely devoid of substantive content and come out monthly. Now, there’s another reason to love these bastions of frivolity: our favorite, 944, is going green! Starting this month, it will significantly reduce its environmental impact by switching to eco-friendly recycled paper.

Here’s another Earth saving tip: quit showing wealthy grown men who dress like teenage skaters with no money. The topless photos of Paris can stay.
