Now that you’ll soon be able to play Guitar Hero on your phone, get out of your basement and head to the Rothbury Music Festival, which is partly sponsored by the addicting game. Although the festival is over this summer, we’re hoping they replay their sustainability mission next year. In addition to working with an organization that builds wind farms and another that specializes in tree-planting, the festival also has a Solar Schools program, building solar panels for local schools so they can spend more on pencils, books and teachers’ dirty looks. The environment doesn’t have to pay as much either, what with the compostable paper-esque plates (made out of sugar cane) and plastic-esque beer cups (made out of corn). Besides, the music coming out of those biodiesel—and solar-powered speakers isn’t half bad either. At least, it’s a lot better than Claire Bear’s.
