The Review: Human Tetris Makes Not Fitting the Mold Hilarious

What is Human Tetris? It’s the delightfully ridiculous Japanese game show where human contestants attempt to contort their bodies into the weird shape in a wall that is rapidly moving towards them. If they fit through, they earn points for their team. If they don’t fit, they end up in a pool of water. Crazy? Yes. Bizarre? Yes. Is watching a grown man trying to do the splits funny? Hell, yes! The Japanese are so nuts for it that Fox couldn’t resist ordering a few episodes for the U.S. and calling it Hole in the Wall.

Yes, it sounds like the name of a brand of rodent traps that could rival Ketch-All, a cage that catches pests without the use of bait or chemicals that pollute the environment or poison kiddies. Although, if you really want an organic way to get rid of pests (aside from watching cheesy game shows really loudly and using bait-free cages), cats are a tried and proved method. Fox’s dopey name aside, the recent success of American Gladiator has proven that there’s a niche for game shows that dress their contestants up in unflattering, shiny, polyester outfits. Maybe a remake of Legends of the Hidden Temple will be next?

Brad Pitt Donates $100,000 to Burn Proposition 8

We definitely don’t want to Burn After Reading Brad Pitt’s latest news, "Angie and I will consider tying the knot when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able." Pitt backed up his pronouncement with a $100,000 donation to help fight Proposition 8 (a California ballot initiative that is trying to take away same-sex couples’ right to marry in the state). We may not all be able to donate $100,000 to a worthy cause (or adopt a new child every 2 months), but we can do our little bit in a paper-free way by letting our credit card do the donating. A few credit cards, including Defender’s of Wildlife Credit Card, will give a small percentage of whatever you charge to the worthy charity of your choice. Meaning you can save the environment, the whales, whatever, without having to write a paper check. Finally, being a shopaholic can benefit the world.
