Megan is great for speaking up on THIS issue. Marijuana is a better recreational drug than alcohol is – it doesn’t leave you hungover the next day, you can’t die from smoking too much, and nobody gets into fights after smoking it. For medical use, it can help people with HIV/AIDS, chronic pain, multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), cancer, arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease, and a dozen and a half others. Also, legalization IS an eco-friendly cause. Hemp is an amazing plant, and has over 25,000 industrial uses besides medicine and recreational. It’s a stronger paper than what we get from trees; it’s a stronger and more durable fabric than cotton or polyester; it’s an efficient, renewable biofuel; it actually rejuvinates the land it grows in, instead of leaving it fallow for an entire season… and legalizing marijuana would allow US farmers to FINALLY start growing this incredibly useful plant again. We import it but can’t grow it – that’s insane.

Legalize it!

Of course marijuana should be legalized! For the past two years the cartels have murdered an average of 17 people a *day* to protect their income from selling marijuana in the U.S.

They will keep killing until we legalize the production and sale of marijuana for adults. We can’t live with this on our conscience.

Tell your legislators to end the federal prohibition of marijuana!

It’s because it’s not a war on (some) drugs, it’s a war on minorities. After the north won the civil war and outlawed slavery, uncle sam outlawed the *naturally occuring* drugs that minorities were using so it could stuff it’s prisons with minorities, therefore replacing slave labor with prison labor.

Cannabis, psychedelic mushrooms, and cocaine are all safer than alcohol; alcohol (ignoring tobacco for a second) is, in my opinion, the most dangerous drug on the planet, because no other drug remotely produces the same kind of combative, uncoordinated fool the way alcohol does.

What are we ‘telling our children’? That it’s ok to get drunk and kill a family of 4 in a car, but they can’t smoke an herb that’s been with us longer than recorded history and produces careful thought and insight?

Look at this… marijuana should be legal.

Google “Dr. Donald Tashkin”

U.S. Govrnment and DEA are hypocrites, marijuana is considered a Schedule 1 Substance (no difference between it and heroin; oh and crack cocaine is treated as less of a problem drug).

Politician won’t legalize but the American people can. Way to go Megan Fox.

You want kids to not smoke pot? Tell them they’ll end up as stupid and vapid as Megan Fox. Better than any anti-drug as the government could come up with.

I wonder what popular opinion on legalization really is. It seems debate stances haven’t shifted much in the history of narcotics. I found a pretty good back and forth debate over it here: http://www.pandalous.com/topic/on_drugs
