Anna Sui’s Gossip Girl inspired collection for Target is set to hit shelves on September 3rd, but Nylon snagged a sneak peek. Interesting enough, many of the outfits are copied straight from Anna’s own runways. Hey, runway fashion for under $50 ain’t nothing to complain about.
Karl Lagerfeld must really love his Vermont home, because he’s personally shot the Chanel ads there for the second season in a row. The campaign, which stars Heidi Mount and Freja Beha Erichson, has a Little House on the Prairie feel.
Blake Lively wants us to know that she can pick out her own clothes, thank you very much. That white backless mesh Cavalli number she sported recently? She picked it out of a mag and said, “I haven’t worn Cavalli yet.” Thrilling!
Last Friday, the House of Representatives passed the first ever ecological legislation – the Waxman-Markey bill. Now that Congress has jumped on the green bandwagon, so should you – you can start by picking up one of Angela Lindvall’s sustainable tees at Yoox. The eco-friendly supermodel mom designed a line with Edun for Yooxygen, Yoox’s sustainable sister site. Proceeds support the Wildlife Conservation Society and Green Cross.
1,800 American Apparel workers stand to be deported after the government found out they were working illegally in the U.S. No wonder AA has been such an advocate of immigration reform! Company execs noted that eligibility papers can be easily faked, and that they’ll let the fakers go.
Beyoncé and Tina Knowles have figured out that the name “House of Dereon” doesn’t resonate with consumers. So they’re releasing a back-to-school line called Sasha Fierce – this way, little girls everywhere can put their freakum dress on.
Bananas, Rachel Zoe is expanding her empire via a fashion newsletter. Like Gwyneth’s GOOP, only sure to be better, because Zoe has witch vibes and all that jazz. I’ve already signed up for “The Zoe Report.”
Leanne Marshall’s line for Bluefly will hit the site on July 8th. Marshall says she focused on accessibility for this collection, but she’s designing a Spring 2010 collection that will show on the runway in September. The Bluefly line, happily, is gorgeous, (relatively)inexpensive, and green – over half the collection is constructed from eco-friendly materials!
THE studded Alexander Wang bag sold out at Oak in hours. Yes, it’s the $850 stunner that MK has been toting around for months (of course). If you don’t have the extra grand to drop, might I suggest a DIY? I like to get my studs from Studs and Spikes’ online store.
Remember that time I went to Sephora to check out eco-model Josie Maran’s line of cosmetics? Well, she was kind enough to send over some samples. I’m infatuated with her Bronzing Argan Oil. It smells lightly delish, makes my skin sparkle, and doesn’t feel too greasy. What could be better for summer?
Kanye West is interning at the GAP, but it’s all very hush hush. One night he even stayed past midnight – soo hardcore of him. He’d offered to work for free at Louis Vuitton, but I guess they didn’t want him?
Check out this wedding dress. It’s entirely constructed from TOILET PAPER.
