THE GREENHORNE REPORTAmerican military officials in Afghanistan told President Obama’s envoy they lacked the troops to adequately handle the Taliban insurgents. This need for more troops presents a problem amplified by the Afghan government’s disputed legitimacy, as well as the 8-year long war’s unpopularity at home.

A new study shows that adapting to climate change, as opposed to focusing on carbon emission cuts, will produce larger economic benefits. Adaptation would prompt countries to look for new crops to match the environmental changes, as well as finding new ways to deal with diseases. However, the study also suggests that adaptation would be most successful with moderate emissions cuts.

Model slash actress, Milla Jovovich, and her long-time partner, director Paul Anderson, finally said "I do" this weekend after a six-year engagement. Their daughter, Ever Gabo, reportedly convinced them to take the plunge.

Despite having multiple girlfriends, Playboy founder Hugh Hefner never actually divorced his wife, Kimberly Conrad. The two had allegedly signed a pre-nup, which allowed Conrad and their two boys to live in the house next to the Playboy Mansion. Now Hef is trying to sell the house, so Conrad slapped him with a lawsuit for breaking the pre-nup. We thought a pre-nup was supposed to prevent an angry ex from taking all your money in court. That was a dumb move on your part, Hef!

September Playboy cover bunny Heidi Montag managed to not make a complete fool of herself performing for the Miss Universe pageant. It was no Britney at the VMAs, but the Hills star’s canned vocals and off-beat dancing did not make for a stellar performance.
