Parents of Balloon Boy Are Full Of Hot Air; Incident Was A Hoax

Boy reportedly takes flight in a helium balloon. Balloon lands, sans boy. After garnering international media attention, boy is found hiding in house. You couldn’t make this stuff up! Oh wait – you could if you were Richard and Mayumi Heene. In a press conference held on Sunday, Sheriff Jim Alderden of Larimer County declared that the incident known as Balloon Boy ‘09 was indeed a hoax orchestrated by the fame-whore parents of 6 year-old Falcon Heene for the purpose of procuring a TV show (can we get a NO DUH). The police are expected to file charges against the adult Heenes in the near future. Additionally, Doug and Joanna Abbott, whose 300-acre field was destroyed by emergency vehicles and the balloon in question, could file their own lawsuit against the Heenes for the loss of their wheat crops. We’re all for pimping your children to get a reality show, but Richard and Mayumi Heene should have gone about it the old fashioned way and forced their kids to start dating Hugh Hefner.
