Spice Girls

THE GREENHORNE REPORTHappy Week After Halloween y’all! I hope your weekend was as memorable as mine. It’s always tough to create the perfect mix between creative and slutty in a Halloween costume. I think I managed it by being the "Walk of Shame," but I think Rihanna needed a little help. As a gal who regularly wears the most cutting edge designer clothing, you’d think she’d come up with something more fabulous than a sexy tiger. I’d of gone with a She-Wolf, at least it’s topical!

The CIT Group managed to avoid Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and instead entered a specially arranged bankruptcy. In this CIT specific version, after a year of court protection, their creditors will support the company. CIT, their creditors and the government chose this method in order to save CIT’s small business customers. However, US taxpayers will lose the $2.3 billion investment the government made as part of the last fall’s financial bailout.

Further proof that Google is taking over the world, but in a good way. Google Earth’s heroes program lauded 5 nonprofit companies who use the software to protect the environment. The companies run the gamut from raising awareness about the effects of mining (Appalachian Voices) to Orangutan survival (Borneo Orangutan Survival).

While London’s 2012 Olympics will have a tough time competing with the spectacle Beijing put on in 2008, the UK has one thing Beijing never had. No it’s not Prince Harry, although that’s a definite plus. IT’S THE SPICE GIRLS! The 5th grader in me is dying with joy. Sporty, Scary, Ginger, Posh and Baby’s farewell tour will coincide with the Games and they are slated to potentially perform at the Opening Ceremony.

Stop the presses! Victoria Beckham (aka Posh!) reveals in a Harpers Bazaar interview that she works out 7 days a week. Duh. She’s famous for being skinny. Heck, I’m neither famous nor skinny and I work out 7 days a week (actually that’s a lie, I don’t work out at all, but when I did, it was every day). But what’s really surprising is that Posh tells the reporter that singing isn’t her thing. Does that mean the Spice Girls were a lie? What about the Olympics?
