Hayden Panettiere

Hayden Panettiere suits up Matrix-style this September for the third season of Heroes, and she tells TV Guide Magazine that fans can expect a flash-forward where sweet Claire Bear “…becomes mean, damaged and kinda nuts – the 180-degree opposite of the character we know.”

Thanks to Keanu Reeves’ adventures, black rubber garments have become associated with many dystopic futures, but that oh-so-slick style that sci-fi heroes and villains seem to crave is largely made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride). PVC is one of the most dangerous plastics available because it releases cancer causing chemicals into the environment during and after production (plus, only 0.1% to 3% of it can be recycled).

While Claire can heal from practically everything, most of us can’t which is why checking out the Center for Health, Environment, and Justice is a good place to look for non-PVC products, like 100% organic cotton cheerleading uniforms…

That hair looks like a wet seal plastered to the back of her head. I love it!
