The biggest mall in the world has opened in Dubai (where else?), home of indoor ski mountains and other such ludicrous luxuries. The mall will feature 10 mini-malls, including a souk designed to mimic a traditional bazaar and “Fashion Avenue”, which will host Bloomies and designers. Oh Dubai, this mall is the opposite of green.
OMG. McQueen for Target! I am shaking in my heeled booties. McQ for Target will be the first line in a series of designer collaborations. The collection will feature studs and tattoo print fabrics (swoon). I can’t believe we have to wait until March.
Adidas is launching a new line called SLVR. It’s meant to be the “just right” line in between the brand’s higher Y-3/Stella McCartney offerings and regular Adidas gear. Happily for us, the brand will also be eco-conscious! SLVR’s materials include organic cotton and soybean fabric. There’s even a “zero waste T” (one piece of fabric cut once and sewn with a single seam). I don’t like sports and I don’t wear Adidas, but even I can holla at this!
Small independent designers are changing their price points in hope of stimulating sales in a tenuous economy. Alexander Wang is offering a wide range of prices, and his spring sales have tripled this year. $65 Wang tees, here I come.
Britney Spears‘ album cover for Circus has leaked, and it shows the star wearing…Rodarte? Really? Is Rachel Zoe Brit’s new stylist? I love Brit more than anyone, but I generally think Forever21 is more her “look.”
I recently learned about Material Mondays, a weekly event in Union Square, NYC where you can recycle all of your old clothes! MM is part of USQ’s Greenmarket, and is open every Monday from 8am-6pm. NYC beanies, you’d better be there. You know I will!
