Fashionista by Ashley David - Click for more from The ClotheshorseRemember how I told you that Tyra’s casting shorties (5’7” and under) for the next season of ANTM? Well, the NYC audition was this weekend, and the skinny minnies (literally) went wild! Watch it yourself above.

Adele in Vogue's Shape issueBritish singer Adele was shot for Vogue’s Shape Issue. Which is great, because Adele’s a bigger woman, except the photo has surfaced and it’s…not so great. They’ve photoshopped the hell out of the woman, dressed her in all black, and placed a tray of food behind her. For the shape issue, nonetheless. How depressing.

Carine Roitfeld’s CNN special aired Wednesday morning. Sadly, it was less about the fabulosity that is Carine, and more about the sorry state of our economy (if we’re talking economic depression, why didn’t anyone ask about Balmain’s $1,500 jeans?).

This week brought the season finale of The City. I’m wondering what’s with DVF. Girlfriend twirled her hair like a schoolgirl, and while she gave Whitney good advice on loving yourself, they talked boyfriends, not fashion. Will the real DVF please stand up?

CFDA nominations were announced Monday night. Marc Jacobs, Narciso Rodriguez and Rodarte will duke it out for Womenswear Designer of the Year.

Marc Jacobs and his fiance Lorenzo MartoneSpeaking of Marc, he got engaged on Wednesday to long-time boyfriend Lorenzo Martone. No wedding date has been set, but the couple is expected to “go public” (you know, in addition to all their constant PDA) with the news in Lorenzo’s native Brazil.

We have a first look at Matthew Williamson’s diffusion line for H&M. Williamson’s fun, flirty and bold clothes are a personal fave of mine, and it looks like the line won’t disappoint! Sadly, though the clothes hit shelves April 23rd, they’ll only be available in 200 stores. Here’s hoping they hit NYC. I have my eye on the sequin shift.

Jil Sander has signed on to be the new creative director at Uniqlo. She says she was offered other opportunities, but wanted to do something “totally different” (read: make clothes people can actually afford). Sounds good to me.

How insanely gorgeous are these clothes from San Francisco based designed Casey Larkin? Her Mr. Larkin line is made from milk. Yes, milk, as in the stuff you put in your cereal. Larkin also uses eco-friendly organic cotton, silk, and cupro. Her website reads: Mr. Larkin (an eco-project), and the clothes speak for themselves.

[...] Loudermilk, as well as relative newbies Mr. Larkin, Popomom and Cri de Coeur. You may remember we’ve spotlighted Casey Larkin before. Love her. And how much do you love that jumpsuit? [...]
