Jennifer Connelly for Balenciaga

Fashionista by Ashley David - Click for more from The ClotheshorseJennifer Connelly’s ads for Balenciaga Fall 2009 are out and the verdict is in: Jen looks super fawk. It’s like she needs to borrow some of Harry Potter’s SkeleGrow.

Hipsters rejoice. Fjallraven (f-yall-raven) Swedish backpacks can now be yours for only 80 bones at Opening Ceremony. Why didn’t Dov Charney think of this?

Green BeesI’m thinking I might need these boots for fall. The soles are made from recycled tires, and while the leather isn’t vegan, all the boots are made without heavy metals or formaldehyde. Check out Green Bees website for more info.

Fashion Week for cool people (read: Milk Studios) just keeps getting cooler. Gareth Pugh will show a video installation at the space during NYFW, along with Alexander Wang and Proenza Schouler.

Rachel Zoe’s first newsletter arrived in my inbox on Tuesday morning. Rumor has it that Emma Watson is designing a line of clothing for teens in conjunction with People Tree, a fair-trade company. Given that the British star was the face of Burberry, and has been quoted as stating she’d only design a line “for a cause”, I’m thinking this story might actually be true!

TwiggySpeaking of our friends across the pond, the British Liberal Dems are fighting to banish airbrushing in photos. You may remember Kate Winslet making a stink about this last year, and now Twiggy’s joined the fight, claiming the Oil of Olay ad at right is totally unrealistic.

Rodarte is the latest brand to jump on the bandwagon with Target. They’ve created a 55 piece capsule collection with the GO International sect of the brand, set to hit for the holiday season. Making Rodarte affordable? God, I love Target. The line launches in stores and online on December 20th and runs through early February.

The calendar for Spring 2010 NYFW has finally dropped, and guess who’s showing her collection? Posh Spice! I can holler at that.

Want to dress like an Ivy League frat boy? Harvard’s about to make all of your dreams come true. They’re launching Harvard Yard, a line of preppy basics, inking a ten-year licensing deal in order to keep fancy collegiate men everywhere happy and well-dressed.
