Instead, a group of local residents decided they didn't want the company there, and Nestle ultimately decided to move their plant to to Sacramento because it was cheaper to truck from there. Nestle's water bottling operation is about as green as a nuclear waste dump, and they're widely reviled for the predatory tactics they practice in small, rural towns.
