As if young girls didn’t already have enough to worry about, MGA Entertainment has come out with a new line of fashion dolls for “aspiring Rachel Zoe’s” – you may recall the brand’s Bratz dolls were pulled off shelves last year after a lawsuit with Mattel, and the new Moxie Girlz are set to take their place.
Dutch model Lara Stone is on the cover of British Vogue’s December issue, and tells the mag she’s an alcoholic – she spent a month in rehab earlier this year and claims the last six months have been “the best of her life.” She also admits that she’s totally human and worries about her weight – but then eats pizza. Love her.
I love when green designers start getting the recognition they deserve, which is why I’m all over shopflick’s greenminded section on their website. They’re featuring pieces from queen Linda Loudermilk, as well as relative newbies Mr. Larkin, Popomom and Cri de Coeur. You may remember we’ve spotlighted Casey Larkin before. Love her. And how much do you love that jumpsuit? DIE.
Twilight actress Christian Serratos posed naked for PETA. You know I’m all for faux fur, but this seems like an odd promotional push for the vampiress, no?
Brooklyn Flea is coming to the East Village for the holiday season. New Yorkers, put this ish on your calendar. The madness starts on Black Friday. Heaven help those who live at 4th and Lafayette.
Finally, we’ve got a closer look at the Rodarte for Target collection. We spotted a piece in this month’s Glamour – a lace tea dress in a darling caramel shade. WANT.
You know you kick ass when you get Canadian stunner Coco Rocha to model your line. Such is the life of design duo Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong of Greta Constantine. For fall, they cleaved seat belts to women’s forms to create stunning architectural pieces like the one pictured on Coco. Amazing what you can do with a repurposed material.
Emmanuel Ungaro may have left his fashion house in 2005 – but that doesn’t mean he’s not disappointed about Lindsay Lohan’s appointment as “artistic advisor.” In not so many words, he says Lohan is causing the company to “lose it’s soul” – ouch, Linds.
Nicole Richie released photos of her fashion line Winter Kate. They’re vintage inspired and nothing amazing, but if you ever wanted to copy Richie’s style, this is your chance.

Luella Bartley announced this week that her label would stop trading. Just a few weeks ago, her investor pulled out on her. This came after the factory that was producing Luella’s pieces closed, leaving her unable to fulfill the Spring 2010 orders. Poor Luella! Tweet #saveluella to help. You can also shop www.luella.com – most of the stuff is already 50% off.
Eco-fashion isn’t just for adults – check out Paper Wings, a girl’s line of sustainable (and stylish!) duds. The line just released its Spring 2010 collection, and it’s full of well-loved wearable pieces.
Modelinia has the lineup for the highly anticipated Victoria’s Secret show, and it seems that model Liu Wen will be the first Asian model to walk for the bra and underwear giant. Also walking for the first time is Chanel Iman, who recently sported a blonde wig in a Deutsch editorial.
Jason Wu (who became famous thanks to a one Mobama) will be lending his skills to knitwear brand Tse this season. He’ll design a 15 piece capsule collection that will show in Fall 2010. Wu’s collaboration with the brand gives him an opportunity to do something totally different than his namesake line, which, he claims, is why he went for it.
Club Monaco has hired Ligia Dias, who designed baubles for Lanvin for years before starting her own line in 2005, to downtown-ize their basics with her funky jewelry. Dias mixed rope with pearls, and the results are like an earthy version of Tom Binns.
