Miley Cyrus recently told a British interviewer that she can’t wait to be done making “pop records.” She’s ready for her fans to grow up so that she can do so as well, and make the kind of music she wants to make. Apparently, that music is 80s power ballads like Poison’s, Every Rose Has Its Thorn. We’d really love to make a joke about recycling here, but honestly, this news pains us too much to do so. Momma Tish claims the rock ballad is one of Miley’s favorite tunes, and that she’s really excited to get in the studio and work her magic. One of our favorite songs is The Green Grass Grew All Around, but you don’t see us planting grass all over the streets of New York.
Miley does some things very well (dressing slutty, wriggling her hips, singing pop music), but recreating classics isn’t one of them. Can’t we leave this song to Bret Michaels? Apparently not, because even Michaels is in on the affair – rumor has it he might whip out his blue rose guitar to play on the track. Our Grinch-sized heart hurts. Doesn’t yours? We’re going to go numb the pain with some organic liquor, rockstar style…
