Choices can often be difficult. Paper or plastic? Milk chocolate or dark?? Chubby Hubby or Coffee Heath Bar Crunch??? Thankfully, the choice is obvious when it comes to cell-phones. Credo Mobile, a company which is automatically attractive by virtue of not being AT&T or Verizon, is actually a huge pioneer for change. They’ve been around since 1985, originally as Working Assets (providing long-distance, mobile, and credit-card services), and do everything from helping poor people get on their feet financially, to producing solar-powered cell-phone chargers, to planting millions of trees to make up for the paper they use, to donating heavily to environmental organizations and groups like the ACLU… Oh, and they don’t condone wire-tapping. That’s right—those private convos you think you’re having? Don’t count on it. But honestly, all issues of the right to privacy aside, what it all comes down to for us? The year’s worth of free Ben and Jerry’s.
